This tiny jeweled frog found within the Yasuni National Park boundaries, but not on the other side of the Tiputini River in the park's buffer zone, is Ranitomeya duellmani. Quick and toxic I find myself sprawled out on the rain forest floor to get this shot, leaving me covered in mud.

Parrot Snake Threat

Kissing Smokey Junge Frogs, Leptodactylus pentadactulus
These juvenile Smokey jungle frogs, Leptodactylus pentadactulus, took me hours to capture as I repeatedly placed them as mirror images, kissing. Encountered along a rain forest stream in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
While working in the Ecuadorian Amazon with PhD student, Shawn McCraken, we found interesting contents in the extracted Aechmea zebrina bromeliads, like this tarantula. Shawn McCracken is a student at Texas State working on amphibian diversity in relation to forest habitats.
